Dr. Kathryn Braun is Director of OPHS, Professor ofPublic Health, and Chair of the DrPH Program. She is Co- PrincipalInvestigator and Research Director of ‘Imi Hale’-- NativeHawaiian Cancer Network. She is known for her work in community-basedparticipatory research in cancer and gerontology, and she haspublished more than 180 peer-reviewed journal articles on thesetopics. She is a fellow in the Gerontological Society of America andthe Association for Gerontology in Higher Education. She alsoconsults as a trainer and program evaluator in Hawai‘i. She servesas President of the Active Aging Consortium Asia Pacific.

Dr. Yuanan Lu : PhD (Microbiology),University of Hawaii at Manoa；MS(Microbiology), Oregon State University；BS(Marine Biology), Huazhong Agricultural University. Heis research interests focus on employing cutting-edge molecularbiology and virology technology for the development of new technologyfor enhanced early detection of viral infection and novel preventiveand therapeutic strategies to combat pathogenic viruses of human andmarine species. Below are several ongoing research projects:
Cell-based drug delivery into the Central NervousSystem
Monitoring of Hawaii beach waters quality using humanenteric viruses as a new indicator
Screening and identify new antiviral drugs from marinemicroorganisms in Hawaiian waters
